Public transportation –the better way to get around in Vienna
The best way for individual sightseeing of Vienna’s historic sites and to discover the city is to use public transportation, by train, underground, tramway and bus. Vienna offers a good network of transportation and good ticket prices.
Children up to 6 years of age always travel free, and children up to 15 years travel free during school vacation, Sundays and holidays (photo identification needed). We recommend the “Wienkarte” where you can travel for 72 hours with public transportation and have further advantages in museums, by sightseeing, shopping, in theatres and concerts.
Easy booking
You can book directly in the hotel: Vienna sightseeing tours, ship tours on the Danube or cards for theatres.
Sports activities
Open-air table tennis, free of use of our garden and a possibility to play golf in “Tuttendörfl” (about 5km away) or in “Schönborn” (the nicest golf course of Austria, 25 km away) where you receive a 10% discount when you stay overnight in our hotel. Tennis courts are about 500 metres away, and if you want to swim there is the “Neue Donau” (new Danube) 1 km away. If you care to sail, surf or row a boat then there is the “Alte Donau” (old Danube) which is 3km away. |
